Jagruti ("the App") is a Telugu Samayam (Hindu calendar timings) application. This policy explains what information the App accesses and how it is used.
Jagruti does not collect, sell, or share any personal data with anyone, including the developer, and there is no account, analytics, or advertising of any kind. The App works primarily offline, using calendar data bundled with the App itself. For locations not bundled with the App, the App can download additional public calendar data from Jagruti's own cloud service — see "Cloud calendar data" below for exactly what that involves.
If you grant location permission, the App uses your device's approximate or precise location for one purpose only: to suggest the nearest bundled samayam location to your current position (for example, suggesting "Hyderabad" if you appear to be near it). This comparison happens entirely on your device against a small bundled list of locations. Your location is never sent anywhere, never stored beyond the current session, and never used for any other purpose. Granting this permission is optional — you can always pick your location manually instead, and the App never automatically switches your selected location without your explicit confirmation.
The App bundles calendar data for a limited set of locations and years. For any other location, or once the bundled date range runs out, the App downloads additional calendar data from Jagruti's own cloud service (Cloudflare) as plain public astronomical/calendar information — the same kind of data already bundled with the App, just for a location or year that wasn't included in the initial install.
This happens in two ways:
Each such request sends only a location identifier (e.g. "hyderabad") and a year (e.g. "2026") to identify which calendar data to fetch — never your GPS coordinates, device identifiers, or any other information about you. The App's cloud service is not able to identify who is making a request beyond what's inherent to any web request (e.g. IP address, logged transiently by standard server infrastructure) — there is no account, no persistent user identifier, and no tracking or analytics tied to these requests. Downloaded data is then stored on your device the same way bundled data is (see "Local storage" below), and is not sent anywhere else.
Locations you stop actively using are automatically removed from your device's local storage after a period of inactivity, to keep the App's storage use bounded — your currently-selected location is never removed this way.
The App schedules local notifications on your device for two features you control: alarms (including muhurta-based alarms) and personal event reminders. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely by your device's operating system — no notification content or scheduling data ever leaves your device.
The App stores the following on your device only, using local database storage (Hive):
None of this data is backed up to any cloud service by the App itself, is not accessible to the developer, and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the App. The App also offers an optional, manual backup/restore feature for your alarms and events (Settings > Backup & Restore) — a backup file is only created and saved when you explicitly choose to do so, and is saved either to a location you choose on your own device or shared through your own choice of app (email, cloud storage, etc.); the App itself never uploads a backup anywhere automatically.

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. The App is suitable for general audiences.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised and, where the App is available through an app store, an updated version will be published there.
